Consider becoming a member of the Pro Coop Board of Directors

Pro Cooperative is seeking candidates to run for seats on the Board of Directors in three regions:
            North Region: Wallingford, Ruthven, Terril, Graettinger, and Estherville
            East Region: Plover, Rolfe, Bradgate, and Rutland
            West Region: Havelock, Pocahontas, Laurens, Ayrshire
Nominees must be a Class A Member of Pro Cooperative to be eligible to run for a position on the Board. Time Commitment: Board meetings typically occur monthly at the Pro Headquarters in Pocahontas along with an annual, two-day, Board Planning Session.
Nominations are accepted until October 19, 2018. Elections occur at the next annual meeting. A Director term begins immediately after the voting at the annual meeting and runs for three years.

Characteristics of a Board Member:
The Board of Directors is instrumental to the success of Pro Cooperative and plays an important role of meeting the needs and protecting the interests of Pro Cooperative’s member-owners. Some characteristics of a prospective board member include:
  • Positive attitude, an eagerness to improve and grow, and a willingness to encourage others
  • Shows discernment, sound decision-making skills
  • Business/Farm management experience and an appetite to learn and improve
  • A passion for agriculture and an excitement for navigating the future
  • Strong communication skills, ability to converse with a team of people and working towards a common set of goals
  • Enjoys offering ideas and solving complex issues as a group
  • Willing to learn about industry issues and be prepared for meetings
