POCAHONTAS — PRO Cooperative’s Board of Directors approved a plan to invest $3.0M in its operations in Terril with the construction of a new 750,000 bushel grain bin.  This addition will complement the 750,000 bushel bin, 20,000 bushel per hour grain leg and truck dump constructed last year.  The project also includes the demolition of the existing wooden grain elevator built in the 1950’s, as well as a few flat storage buildings that are no longer fit for use.

Kyle Kuepker, Chief Executive Officer, stated: “We have long-term growth plans for Terril and this investment is a continuation of the $3.4M investment made over the last year.  Harvest volumes have outpaced storage capacity in Terril and this addition will allow us opportunities to utilize our truck fleet elsewhere rather than tie them up hauling away from this location during harvest. The continuation of this project will be a great addition for our patrons and the people in the community.”

As for the timeline of the project: “PRO is in the final stages of site design and we hope to break ground as soon as possible,” mentioned Kuepker. “We’re excited. I think it’s going to be a significant logistics relief.” PRO Cooperative anticipates the Terril expansion to be completed by harvest.

Terril joined PRO Cooperative in 2009 as part of the Ruthven Farmer’s Cooperative merger and has been a corner-post to PRO’s business ever since.  “Thank you to the area members that have allowed us to build such a long-term successful location.” Kuepker said.
