CHS and PRO Cooperative support local FFA Chapter and Greenhouse
PRO Cooperative announced a $5,000 donation to the local FFA Pilot Creek chapter. The funds will support upgrades and equipment needs for the Pocahontas Area High School greenhouse.
The $2,500 donated by PRO Coop is matched dollar for dollar by the CHS Seeds for Stewardship grant. Together, the $5,000 will benefit the greenhouse project for FFA and Pocahontas Area students. The funds will specifically go towards improving the FFA chapter greenhouse by adding new equipment and improving the water quality system.
“The Pilot Creek FFA would like to thank PRO Cooperative and CHS for their generous donation of $5,000. said Justin Waller, local FFA advisor. “This grant will increase opportunities for students in the areas horticulture and agronomy. It’s a hands-on learning environment where students can increase production of plants grown in the greenhouse and learn new agronomic management practices of various crops.”
The CHS Seeds for Stewardship program supports projects in rural communities and helps cooperatives grow their impact locally. This grant is evaluated on a competitive basis and priority is given to projects that cultivate ag leaders.
